A reference to our work with Guardian News & Media
Target Colour are a supplier to both Guardian Print Centre (GPC) and Guardian News and Media (GNM).
At GPC we purchased CMYK INK Optimisation in March 2007 which has been a very successful product for us, reducing our ink cost by around £200,000 per annum. We also purchased the Perfect Proof ProofMaster proofing system which produces newspaper proofs compliant with ISO 12647/3. In both cases all hardware and software was purchased through Target Colour, as well as an annual service contract.
The purchase and installation went well, and the service over the past year has been very good. We have recently renewed the annual service contract. During the year, not only have Target Colour fulfilled the terms of the contract, but have also given invaluable advice on colour management.
More recently, in March 2008, as part of a project to improve the efficiency of the imaging process at the editorial offices in Farringdon Road, GNM have invested in ICS Remote Director through Target Colour, as well as another 2 Perfect Proof proofing systems and 5 wide gamut Samsung XL 30 monitors.
Target Colour are also acting as consultants assisting GNM across both our newspaper print sites in attempting to achieve certification to ISO 12746/3. We expect to continue to work with them on all areas of colour management.
